These options are in the Appearance box on the Machine Model control tab. The CAD model apprearance can be highly customised in order to create figures as desired. This can be helpful to improve performance when working with large models if not all parts are necessary for a particular calibration, or for removing parts which are in the way and make the calibration more difficult. This can be done for individual parts, groups of parts (if defined in the CAD model) or the entire model. Turning CAD model parts On/Off įor CAD models composed of multiple parts in separate mesh files, individual mesh files can be turned on or off by ticking/unticking them in the Enable / Disable Features panel. You can change to a different CAD model or variant at any time by selecting a different item from the dropdown boxes and clicking Load again. This is useful if working with a large model on a slow computer where you don’t want to wait for the whole model to load if not needed. If not checked, the model definition will be loaded but none of the 3D mesh data will be loaded, and instead you can turn on features individually. Underneath the model variant dropdown box is a checkbox labeled Enable default model features on load: if checked, the default parts of the CAD model are all loaded as soon as the model itself is loaded. The Load button to the right of the model variant then loads the model. Two dropdown boxes are provided to select the CAD model to load and the model variant. As with the other Calcam GUI tools, the window consists of the 3D view on the left of the window and controls on tabs to the right: CAD Model Setup Īt the top the Machine Model control tab are controls for loading a CAD model to calibrate against. It allows to adjust resolution and plays 3D video uncompressed (so everything in normal proportion). The Calcam 3D viewer can be used for visualising machine CAD models, camera positions and fields-of-view, and for creating high quality figures. A good app to play various 3D content is 3Dtube. Youtube works OK for non horizontal compressed video on the Ipad. For playing 3D video are various apps available.Software for a start can be (freeware windows) Stereomoviemaker. For 3D video content you need side by side synchronized left and right video in 1 stream.A full display slide show of side by side mounted images can be achieved by a normal slide show player like ' slideshow Builder lite'. A good tool to start with is Stereophotomaker (for Windows) or Cosima. You need 3D (stereoscopic) images to prepare the side by side oriented images for left and right. However when using 'Jailbreak' and BTstack, you can connect a blue tooth mouse to the Ipad. Control by mouse is not supported by Apple. Controlling the Ipad by touch screen is not working. The viewer is made of stainless steel and is black powder coated. The large lens opening makes viewing for glasses wearers easy to see the whole image into the corners sharp and clear. The front of the lenses are both protected by a coated glass window. The viewer holds high quality coated glass lenses of 5 dioptres (20 cm.The 3D image needs to be positioned parallel side by side. The image is given on one single Ipad model 2,3 or 4.The front is rectangular and only needs to cut a rectangular hole in a panel to put the viewer front through. A screen filling slide show of side by side mounted stereo pairs is enough.Įspecially for museums and exhibitions this viewer is easy to add to the interior. You don't need to take the Ipad off the viewer to control it. An Ipad can be controlled using a blue tooth keyboard. There is enough content available on the internet for this method of viewing but the latest 3D consumer video camera's supply the same format. A beam splitter prevents crosstalk between the left and right image. It has the parallel 3D viewing method with the images side by side on one single Ipad. Digital 3D viewer for viewing still images as well as video streams.
